The lawn and garden treatment service comprises of pre-scheduled lawn treatment throughout the year. A typical lawn treatment involves the spreading of a long-life granular fertiliser approximately every 10 weeks and separate weed killer to remove those unwanted weeds, daises, dandelions, etc.
The Lawn treatments have been specifically designed to take into consideration seasonal conditions throughout the year. For example, the final lawn treatment has been specifically designed to tackle moss.
-
Stage 1
Spring Lawn Treatment Service:
A mini granular compound fertiliser breaks down quickly to give a rapid uptake of nutrients into your lawn ideal for the lower soil temperatures at the same time avoiding an uncontrolled flush of growth. Lawn weeds are low-temperature selected weed killer.
-
Stage 2
Spring-Summer Lawn Treatment Service:
Controlled release fertiliser with false start portion for close coarse mown turf. More attention is also given to specific lawn weeds present, like self-heal and yarrow.
Growth curve of conventional fertiliser:
each application of conventional fertiliser produces a strong peak, after which the growth declines and the grass turns yellow. An average of 4 to 6 applications are carried out annually.
Growth curve of controlled release fertiliser:
with controlled release coated fertiliser, the nutrient supply is guaranteed over a longer period, resulting in balanced growth and consistent grass colour.
-
Stage 3
Summer Lawn Treatment Service:
Similar treatment as spring-summer but more attention is given to other difficult weeds such as speedwells, trefoils and woodrush.
-
Stage 4
Autumn Lawn Treatment Service:
The final treatment for the year controls the year controls moss, encourages deep colour and makes the lawn resilient for the winter months, whilst improving the health and appearance of the lawn.
Other Services:
Hollow Tine Aeration:
Aeration is the most effective way of reducing sub-surface thatch and soil compaction. This operation involves the removal of hundreds of cores from the lawn allowing your lawn to breather whilst encouraging a stronger healthier lawn. Hollow-Tine Aeration requires specialist professional equipment. The Cores are cleared from your lawn.
Scarification:
Over the course of the year lawns can accumulate thatch, a layer of slowly decomposing grass, dead roots, grass clippings, leaves and other organic matter all increase the layer of thatch which forms at the base of the grass stems. As this matter increases in density, it prevents important nutrients, as well as water and air, from reaching the root zone. It also provides a perfect environment for moss to flourish.
